Welcome to the heart of my quilting journey, where desire, creativity, and a love for learning inspire me. I’m Tessa, and it’s my pleasure to share my quilting story with you.

It all started when I was about 11 years old. Back in that time there was a sewing revival in the United States. People were looking for a simpler life and wanted to get back to the traditional ways, not so unlike today. Sewing and quilting had been revived. Patchwork pants, jackets, wallets, pillows, table runners, all sorts of things were being made.

I loved sewing a variety of items from wallets and pillows to clothes. The thrill of creating something useful was such a joy and still inspires me to continue to create and dabble with the craft.

As with most, sewing took a back seat in the years of raising children and building a career. Although I sewed from time to time during those years, I just didn’t have the time to encourage the designer within me. It wasn’t until several years ago that quilting became a passion of mine. Creating a table runner, quilt, or even a bag has captured my heart. The magic of quilting lies not only in the final product but also in the process—carefully selecting fabrics, designing patterns, and sewing each piece with an abundance of care. These are some of the topics that I plan to discuss on the blog.

My quilting journey took a beautiful turn when I became the president of our local quilt guild, Piecemakers of Idaho. Leading this vibrant community of like-minded quilters was an honor beyond words. Together, we celebrated the art of quilting, shared our experiences, and honed our skills. It was a time of growth, camaraderie, and endless inspiration.

One thing you should know about me is that my thirst for knowledge in the world of quilting is unquenchable. Even after all these years, I still eagerly seek opportunities for growth and exploration. Whether it’s learning new techniques, experimenting with innovative materials, or delving into the rich history of quilting, there’s always something new to discover.

One of the greatest joys in life is sharing what you love with others. That’s precisely why I’m here today, ready to take the next step in my quilting journey.
